Tatneft is creating a complex of modern biotechnological industries. For example, thermal insulation materials will be produced from cannabis residues. Flax is made of cellulose. Non-food sugars will be obtained from plant waste. Sewage sludge is suitable for the production of methanol, and the pyrolysis plant already operating today produces biooil and biochar from wood chips, analogues of natural oil and coal, raw materials for petrochemical industries.
