The ideas on the application of TATNEFT technologies and experience for the benefit of the society were accumulated gradually, and as a result, together they formed a large-scale project of creating a sustainable autonomous energy-efficient settlement on the basis of the Aktobe settlement in the Aznakaevsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan.

"TATNEFT" is creating a complex of modern biotechnological production facilities. For example, hemp residues will be used to produce heat-insulating materials. Flax will be used to produce cellulose. Plant waste will be used to produce non-food sugars. Sewage sludge is suitable for methanol production, and the pyrolysis unit already in operation today produces biooil and biochar from wood chips - analogues of natural oil and coal, raw materials for petrochemical production.
